An exciting new opportunity for Friesian lovers to get hands on experience of what itâ€™s like to ride and / or drive a Friesian in one of the most scenic parts of the country.

Experienced riders are invited to join us on a quiet hack round the lanes and through Cartmel village. Or for those wanting a little bit more we can explore the local network of bridleways and enjoy the stunning views from the top of Hampsfell overlooking the Cartmel valley and Morecambe Bay.

Cartmel Country Carriage Rides

Custom rides can include picnic drives. Flowers and chocolates can be arranged for wedding proposals or special occasions.

*Basic 30 minute drive with 2 seater carriage and a single horse Cost: £50
*Basic 30 minute drive with 2 seater carriage and a single horse with champagne Cost: £70
*Excursion - 1 hour drive with 2 seater carriage and a pair of horses Cost: £90
*Excursion - 1 hour drive with 2 seater carriage and a pair of horses with champagne Cost: £110
*Excursion - 45 minutes to 1 hour in a Sporting Break carriage for up to 6 adults Cost: £180

Friesian Experience days

There are a wide variety of places to eat in Cartmel at lunch time, or you are welcome to bring a pack lunch and eat it in the garden at Greenbank Farm.

Half Day Friesian Experience with riding Includes a 1 and a half hour ride (10am to 1pm OR 2pm to 5pm) Cost: £65 per person
Full Day Friesian Experience with riding Includes two 1 and a half hour rides OR one ride of approx 3 hours (10am to 5pm) Cost: £110 per person
Half Day Friesian Experience with driving Includes a 1 and a half hour drive Cost: £75 per person
Full Day Friesian Experience with driving Includes two 1 and a half hour drives with singles OR for more experienced drivers, a drive with a single horse in the morning and a pair in the afternoon Cost: £130 per person
Full Day Friesian Experience with Riding / Driving Includes one 1 and a half hour ride and a 1 and a half hour drive Cost: £120 per person
Frieisian Experience for Experienced Riders For those who have already taken part in one of our Experience days we are pleased to offer the opportunity to come and ride one of our horses again.
1 hour Experienced Rider's ride - £30 per person
