Our aim is to develop a Friesian
breeding programme in the UK using only high quality mares and FPS
Approved stallions. Although the stallion plays a very important role
in the breeding, the quality of the mare is often overlooked which is
why in 2005 we purchased
FEMMA L, a 1st Premie STAR mare who has since
produced a filly foal (VELA) by JASPER 366. Femma spent the summer of 2007 in
Holland with Sybren Minkema and Jolanda Schreuder and completed her
IBOP test
in both driving and dressage.
She scored an incredible 80 points for her driving and 81.5 points for
her driving. She was inspected again and gained another
1st Premie which entitled her to attend the October Central Mare show
to be
assessed for MODEL status. She performed well and gained 5th
place in her group behind the only two mares under 7 years old that
were awarded Model. Femma has been confirmed in foal to Arjen 417 and we are delighted the Dutch inspectors have agreed to re-assess her at this years official UK Friesian Inspections on 14th September for either Krown Predikat or Model status. |
