Friesian Experience days
An exciting new opportunity for Friesian lovers to get hands on experience of what it's like to ride and / or drive a Friesian in one of the most scenic parts of the country.
Experienced riders are invited to join us on a quiet hack round the lanes and through Cartmel village. Or for those wanting a little bit more we can explore the local network of bridleways and enjoy the stunning views from the top of Hampsfell overlooking the Cartmel valley and Morecambe Bay.
We are not a trekking centre, we just have some lovely Friesians that we want to share with other Friesian lovers. The Friesian experience is just that, its all about learning more about the horses, how they ride and drive, how we train and have them graded. It's also an opportunity to learn more about responsible breeding of the Friesian, the very strict breeding policies and studbook that these amazing animals belong to.
The day is tailored to your needs and to ensure you get everything out of the day you want we only take a maximum of 2 people on a ride who have travelled together.

The following are examples of what we can offer but please feel free to call us to talk thorough what you would like to gain from the experience. We can offer anything from a taster ride or drive to a short break filled with Friesian fun!
All our Experience days will include the following:
- Refreshments on arrival
- Overview of the farm, facilities and safety procedures
- Introduction to the Greenbank Farm Friesians and your ride for the day
- Opportunity to groom and tack up your horse
- Refreshments at the end of the day and further discussion about the workings of the FPS Studbook including understanding friesian papers and the grading process

½ Day Friesian Experience with riding
(10am to 1pm OR 2pm to 5pm) Includes a 1 ½ hour ride
Cost: £65.00 per person

Full Day Friesian Experience with riding
(10am to 5pm) Includes two 1 ½ hour rides OR one ride of approx 3 hours
Cost £110 per person excluding lunch

½ Day Friesian Experience with driving
- Includes a 1 ½ hour drive
Cost: £75.00 (partners coming along for the ride - £20)

Full Day Friesian Experience with driving
- Includes two 1 ½ hour drives with singles OR for more experienced drivers, a drive with a single horse in the morning and a pair in the afternoon
Cost £130 (partners coming for moral support - £30 excluding lunch

- Includes one 1 ½ hour ride and a 1 ½ hour drive

Experienced Riders
For those who simply want to see what its like to ride a Friesians we are pleased to offer the opportunity to come and ride one of our horses. Unfortunately we cannot take complete Novices out.
